FRC Founding Members


Dr Ashraf Ali (President): Dr. Ashraf Ali is a seasoned journalist. His last assignment before joining FRC as its President was with the BBC World Service where he worked for 20 years.  Over the years he has made valuable contributions to some of the leading newspapers of the world including The Daily Telegraph (London), San Francisco Chronicle (USA), The Muslim Observer (USA) and the Gulf Monitor (UAE). He has also written regularly for different leading Pakistani newspapers.

Saifullah Mahsud (Executive Director): Saifullah Mahsud is the executive director at FRC. He is among the founding members of the organization. Since joining FRC he has worked on research projects in Paktika, Helmand and Oruzgan provinces of Afghanistan, all seven agencies of FATA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Southern Punjab.

Mansur Khan Mahsud (Director Admin): Mansur Khan Mahsud is from South Waziristan Agency of FATA. He has rich experience of working on the ground as a researcher. He was associated with leading Pakistan and Singapore based think tanks before joining the FRC as its director. Being well versed in the local norms, values, customs and traditions of FATA, Mansoor’s write ups reflect his clear vision and in-depth knowledge of the issues confronting the tribal areas.
